Rebecca Underwood, PT, Administrator Rebecca has been practicing in the Salem, NH area since 1989 where she opened “Body SMART Physical Therapy” with offices in Salem and Plaistow, then Windham Physical Therapy in Windham and Methuen, MA. Rebecca joined Salem Sports & Rehab 6 years ago to continue to serve the Salem and surrounding communities. In the 22 years, she has specialized in orthopedics and has pursued advanced courses in strength and conditioning, spinal rehabilitation, shoulder rehabilitation, TMJ and Golf Specific Exercise Programs. She utilizes a combination of therapeutic exercises, manual techniques and modalities to optimize rehab potential for her patients.
Outside her profession, Rebecca is an avid runner for 29 years and loves to work out, mountain bike, swim, hike, hunt and hold true to the saying “If it is physical, it is therapy.
Seth Conway, ATC Seth joined the Salem Sports & Rehab team in the spring of 2009, after completing his Bachelor's of Science degree in Athletic Training at Colby-Sawyer College. Not only does he work in the clinic, Seth is also the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Salem High School and a member of Safe Sports Network. Due to his knowledge of athletic injuries and care, he is able to carry athletes through the full spectrum of treatment, from initial evaluation to return to play.
Darlene Heffernan, PTA Darlene has been a member of the Sports and Rehab team for 5 years. She graduated Hesser College in 1999, and was licensed by the state of NH. She began her career in acute inpatient and outpatient orthopedics at St. Joseph’s, and joined SS&R in 2002. Darlene manages the aquatic therapy program and enjoys working with patients of all ability levels. Darlene is skilled in various areas of rehab and brings diverse aspects to the rehabilitation team. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, woodworking, and kayaking.
Kelly Vadala, MS OTR/L Kelly began her career at Salem Sports & Rehab after receiving her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree from the University of New England. She specializes in treating orthopedic conditions, which involve the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand with a special emphasis on function. Kelly manages the Work Conditioning and Arthritis Programs at SS&R. She also is the Clinical Coordinator for all student therapists. In addition, Kelly holds a Physical Agent Modality Certificate and continues to pursue advanced education with a focus on the hand.

Our Professionals
Robert Armata, DPT Rob received his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise
Physiology from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in 2003. In 2007, he
then graduated from Umass Lowell with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Soon after, he became employed by Salem Sports & Rehab in the fall of 2007. Rob's main clinical interests include general orthopedics, functional training, and sport specific training.
Aside from Physical Therapy, Rob enjoys outdoor activities such as golf, hiking, camping, and is a fishing enthusiast. He now resides in the town of North Andover, Ma.
Andrea Kirby, PTA Andrea began her career at Salem Sports & Rehab in 2004, as an office assistant. Her commitment to learning and compassion for people inspired her to become a PTA. While pursing her education at Hesser College, she continued to work as a physical therapist aide. Since becoming a licensed PTA in 2008, Andrea treats patients in clinic as well as aquatic therapy. She continues to look forward to continuing education classes to widen her aside for physical therapy. Andrea enjoys being a new mom and spending time with her family.

Linda Reeves, PT Linda Reeves has a BS in Physical Education with a Health Minor from Plymouth State College; She has her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Notre Dame College in Manchester, N. H. She worked for Healthsouth Rehabilitation in Salem, N. H., and for EHPT in Exeter, N. H., where her primary focus was outpatient orthopedic sports injuries.
Rolinda Mitchell, ATC Rolinda graduated from the University of Southern Maine in December 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Athletic Training. She joined the Salem Sports and Rehab team in June 2010 and is also the Head Athletic Trainer at Pelham High School. She has had experience working with athletes from all different levels and types. As a lifelong athlete herself, she has a love of athletics and compassion for patient care, which carries throughout her work within the clinic and on the field.
